Who I Am
At KR Therapies, I believe in thriving, not just surviving. Life can throw some curveballs — anxiety, low mood, panic, or the lingering impact of trauma — and sometimes it’s tricky to know how to move forward. Therapy can help you develop practical tools to cope, and maybe even reconnect with the things that make life worth living.
“Not just surviving — thriving, even when life gets messy.”
I’m a West Yorkshire–based Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and EMDR therapist, specialising in PTSD, anxiety, panic, and low mood. My work focuses on helping people spot the patterns that keep them stuck — and, more importantly, figure out how to shake them off (with a little humour along the way, because life’s too short to be serious all the time).
I started out as a support worker, before training in low- and high-intensity CBT, and later qualifying in EMDR. This journey means I can draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to what actually works for you, not a one-size-fits-all model.
“Your therapy, your way — evidence-based approaches with a personal touch.”
I also have a particular interest in how our mental health and physical health influence each other. I’ve completed specialist training in CBT for people living with chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome / ME, diabetes, coronary heart disease, life after cancer, and persistent physical symptoms. Our bodies and minds like to team up in creative (and sometimes exhausting) ways — and therapy can help you navigate that partnership more smoothly.
Alongside professional experience, I also bring personal insight through lived experience. This helps me understand the challenges that long-term health conditions can bring — and why it’s so important to approach therapy with compassion, humour, and a dash of reality.
If you’re thinking about therapy and wondering whether we might be a good fit, get in touch. We can have a chat, see whether we click, and figure out if this feels like the right place for you to start making meaningful change.
